Maple Tempeh Bacon
Slice the tempeh into thin strips about 3 mm thick, like bacon rashers.
Ingredients
- 200 g tempeh
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
Steps
- Slice the tempeh into thin strips about 3 mm thick, like bacon rashers.
- Whisk the soy sauce, maple syrup, olive oil, smoked paprika, vinegar, garlic powder and pepper, then marinate the strips for 15 minutes, turning once.
- Lay the strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer, letting the excess marinade drip off first.
- Cook at 180°C for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway and brushing with the remaining marinade, until dark and crisp at the edges.
- Let them sit for 2 minutes to firm up, then serve.
