Bang Bang Shrimp

Pat the shrimp dry, season them with salt, then dip them in the beaten egg and toss in cornstarch until evenly coated.

Ingredients

  • 500 g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 80 g cornstarch
  • 1 piece egg, beaten
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp spring onion, sliced

Steps

  1. Pat the shrimp dry, season them with salt, then dip them in the beaten egg and toss in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Spray or brush the coated shrimp with olive oil and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Cook at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until crisp and pink.
  4. Whisk the mayonnaise, sweet chilli sauce and sriracha together in a bowl to make the bang bang sauce.
  5. Toss the hot shrimp in the sauce, scatter with spring onion and serve straight away.
