Air Fryer Fish and Chips

Cut the potatoes into thick chips, soak them in cold water for 10 minutes, then pat them dry and toss with 1 tbsp olive oil and half the salt.

Ingredients

  • 2 piece cod fillets
  • 500 g potatoes, cut into thick chips
  • 80 g panko breadcrumbs
  • 50 g plain flour
  • 1 piece egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 piece lemon, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. Cut the potatoes into thick chips, soak them in cold water for 10 minutes, then pat them dry and toss with 1 tbsp olive oil and half the salt.
  2. Spread the chips in the air fryer basket and cook at 200°C for 18 minutes, shaking the basket twice, then move them to a plate and keep warm.
  3. Coat each cod fillet in flour, dip it in the beaten egg, then press it into the panko mixed with the remaining oil, salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange the coated fillets in the air fryer basket and cook at 190°C for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and flaky.
  5. Return the chips to the basket for the last 2 minutes to crisp up again, then serve everything with lemon wedges.
