Ingredients

  • 250 g puff pastry, ready-rolled
  • 40 g caster sugar
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 20 g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp chocolate spread, to serve

Steps

  1. Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into strips about 2 cm wide, then twist each strip along its length into a ridged churro.
  2. Brush the twists with the melted butter mixed with vanilla and lay half of them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
  3. Cook at 180°C for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway, until puffed and deep golden. Repeat with the second batch.
  4. Mix the sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt in a bowl and roll the hot churros in it. Serve warm with chocolate spread for dipping.
