Apple fritters

Peel, core and finely dice the apples, then toss them in a bowl with the cinnamon and a pinch of salt.

Ingredients

  • 3 piece apples, peeled and diced
  • 150 g plain flour
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 piece egg
  • 80 ml milk
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 60 g icing sugar

Steps

  1. Peel, core and finely dice the apples, then toss them in a bowl with the cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
  2. Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, egg and milk into a thick batter, then fold in the apples.
  3. Drop heaped spoonfuls of the batter onto parchment in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them, and lightly spray with oil.
  4. Cook at 180°C for 11–13 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and set. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
  5. Mix the icing sugar with a little milk into a thin glaze and drizzle it over the warm fritters. Serve fresh.
